WHFR Blues Benefit at the New Place Lounge

WHFR Radio is pleased to announce our next exciting Live Blues Benefit Night at the friendly New Place Lounge (MI Ave, West Dearborn). The concert will take place on Saturday, November 7th from 9:30pm-1:30am. As usual, the event will feature at least 2 local blues acts, with a $5 minimum donation per person at the door (21 and over, please). All proceeds will benefit our eclectic non-commercial station.

Here is the line-up of our amazing local blues talent that will play at the live blues event:

CARL HENRY: a guitarist/vocalist, he is a respected veteran in the blues music world, and competed in the recent Detroit Blues Society’s final Band Challenge. Carl will open our show with a solo performance.

LEMON JAMES: a talented female guitarist/vocalist/composer who even makes her own guitars. Lemon is always very entertaining, and is known for her Jimi Hendrix material.

BROKEN ARROW BLUE BAND: one of the most popular club bands around Detroit, the members each have years of experience in the local blues scene. Broken Arrow also appeared in this year's Detroit Blues Society’s final Band Challenge. They will be our host band for the evening.

See you there!
