WHFR Benefit Concert Featuring Mardi Gras Jazz TONIGHT (Feb 9) at Joe Vicar's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse in Dearborn

HFCC's student-run public radio station WHFR-FM (89.3) will host a benefit concert featuring local Mardi Gras jazz artists Saturday, Feb. 9, at Joe Vicari’s Andiamo Italian Steakhouse, located at 21400 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. This event takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. Headlining this benefit event is “In The Tradition” jazz ensemble. Other artists scheduled to play include Rosalind Sample-Mosley, Banjo Mike, and others. The concert offers a great opportunity to see these talented jazz acts in one spectacular night of live music. The cost to attend this special event is $5, payable to WHFR Radio. Guests can enjoy pasta buffet, food and drinks for an additional cost. All ages are welcome to attend.

In addition to many other original and eclectic formats featured on WHFR, the station is proud to consistently air blues and jazz. The non-commercial station must rely on listener support for a large portion of its operation, and this event hopes to bring in some much-needed funding.

All proceeds of this special event will benefit WHFR. For further information about this concert, please contact WHFR General Manager Susan McGraw at 313.845.9842 or via email at whfr-gm@hfcc.edu . You may also visit http://whfr.fm/ for more information.
